Research Interests

My research investigates how microbes evolve, with a particular focus on bacterial pathogens. By combining genomics, bioinformatics, and epidemiology with experimental microbiology, I study how pathogens adapt to selection pressures such as antibiotics and the host environment. My current work centres on the genomics of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Salmonella, and on the role bacteriophages play in shaping bacterial evolution.
