Teaching Interests

I advocate an approach to dramatic writing that favours practice as research, considering the playwright's practical role in the rehearsal room and in workshops, and through building the shared ethos of a writer's room. This approach allows for a robust exploration of the individual voice, but also more accurately reflects how plays are actually created in professional productions and better prepares students for the rigours of rehearsals and in working with future colloborators, such as other writers, directors, actors, and designers.
