Teaching Interests
I subscribe very much to active learning approaches - specifically problem- and project-based learning. I very much teach in a 'learn by doing' environment with much of my module activities taking place in computer laboratories, using Python, C, C++, Matlab, etc. as problem-solving tools. My assessment approaches combine a mixture of student-constructed problems and topics, student reflection, peer assessment, and formative and iterative assessments.
